New York City Benchmarking Project

The New York City Benchmarking Project engages workforce development organizations in activities to strengthen their capacity for using data as a tool for performance improvement. In 2009, staff from 35 organizations participated in the project by completing The Benchmarking Project survey, attending workshops on strategies for staff engagement with data and sharing effective practices in a series of bi-monthly "learning group" forums. In addition, five organizations received more intensive onsite technical assistance from P/PV staff and consultants. Funded by the NYC Workforce Funders, the project will continue into 2010 with a particular focus on identifying "interim outcome" data programs and funders can use to track the educational and employment progress of young adults (age 18 to 24).

If you are a New York City-based provider of workforce development services and are interested in learning more about The Benchmarking Project, please contact benchmarking@ppv.org.
